Dear friend, I invite you on a adventurous delight
These chocolates will shoot you into a starlit night

chocolates for teatime or after dinner
or even for breakfast, you might want to consider
if you don’t mind being called a sinner!

sharing chocolates any time over casual talk
hours upon end discussing what piles up to not a heck of a lot!

chocolate is about sharing together in pleasure
creating moments to forever treasure

i’m searching for the right, so elegant, words
if only I could get them to fly out of me like a flock of birds
but even if I could, in what order would I put them and what would I say ?
oh dear, this is not going well and turning into dismay
i don’t mean to make this into an ordeal
so perhaps I could just say thanks, thanks for the meal
but I must find words with the right touch
gracias, thank you, thank you very much?
oh heck, just take these chocolates
and accept my merci buckets!

i’m never going to write a poem because I am a man
but I’ll do it for him, so he can see that anybody can
for him whatever I do is a crime
he also makes fun of me most of the time
so son, one day you will tell your friends that your Dad rocks
but for now, I can’t think of anything else to give you other than chocolates in this box

you finally got through all the mess
and came out quite a success
you proved that life
does not have to lead to strife
you are equipped with persistence and humor and when push comes to shove
you always know how to surround yourself with my love
(one day, you can thank little ole me
and I will accept in all modesty !)

i know sometimes i can get in your hair
and together we do make mistakes
we can’t just sit back and consider our fate
